Ian Kunkes
Ian Kunkes grew up in a Northern New Jersey suburb of New York City. After
graduating high school, he moved to Western Massachusetts to pursue a degree
in psychology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. As a student, the
focus of Ian’s studies was in the areas of child/adolescent and educational
psychology. He also had several opportunities to assist and conduct research on
the impact television has on children, as well as the various coping methods
college students employ when faced with stress. After graduation, Ian pursued
work in the field of special education. His specific focus was on teaching
vocational and social skills, in both public and private school settings. In
August, 2010, Ian moved to Maryland, where he began working with students
on the Autism Spectrum, in Sheppard Pratt’s, Forbush School System and
started his tenure as a Regional Program Coordinator with AHEADD,
Baltimore. Ian currently resides in Baltimore County, Maryland and is pursuing
advanced studies in Counseling Psychology.
