Melissa Rusak, MSW, LCSW-P, BCBA
Melissa is the Regional Program Manager for the Raleigh/Durham
area of North Carolina. In addition to her work with AHEADD, Melissa
currently serves as a Consultant and North Carolina Director for the Autism
Education and Research Institute (AERI). She has completed coursework
in Applied Behavior Analysis through Penn State and is a Board Certified
Behavior Analyst. Melissa has worked with individuals with an autism
spectrum diagnosis in a variety of roles including preschool teacher,
outpatient counselor, family based therapist, and behavior specialist. In
addition Melissa has previously worked with Western Psychiatric Institute
and Clinic and University of Pittsburgh on a project aimed increasing family
engagement in therapeutic services. During this time, she assisted in
the development and implementation of psycho-educational and support
groups for the families of children with a mental health or autism diagnosis.
Melissa is committed to employing practices supported by research and is
honored to be involved in the shared vision of AHEADD and AERI to assist
individuals in meeting their potential throughout their lifespan.
