Kathy Rudin
Kathy grew up in the Northern Virginia area and graduated from William &
Mary in 1997 with a degree in Biology.  Her first job out of college was
working with adults with disabilities in San Diego, CA.  From there, Kathy
moved to Nashville to get her M.Ed. in Special Education from Vanderbilt
University.  Kathy worked with children with disabilities in Fairfax County,
VA at both the high school and elementary school level until deciding to stay
home with her two daughters.  She is thrilled to be a part of the AHEADD
team as Program Coordinator for AHEADD DC.

Marcia Shia
Marcia has lived in the District of Columbia for 22 years and is originally
from Western Massachusetts.  Previous to becoming alternatively certified
to teach through the DC Teaching Fellows Program, she worked in film and
television producing award-winning documentaries, how-tos and several
live-action narratives.  Marcia has extensive experience teaching students
from first grade through graduation. She has been the recipient of the Fund
for Teachers fellowship and the Washington Post Teaching Grant.  She
recently completed the Reach for College course designed to prepare high
school students for college.  This is her first year as a Program Manager for
AHEADD.
